Each photography session is not just about creating images, it’s a living encounter between two souls, two psyches that, for a brief moment, share the same breath. In the beginning, the person standing in front of me often arrives with caution. The body still guards itself, the eyes search quietly “Is it safe for me to be myself here?” I don’t rush. I don’t direct. I simply stay close and create a space where nothing needs to be proven, where silence is welcome, and being is enough.
Then something gentle happens. The breath softens, the control melts, and in that stillness presence is born. There is no more posing there is truth. This is the moment I hold the camera for. I don’t interfere, I don’t lead; I simply observe, breathe, and catch the light in which a person meets themselves as they truly are.
Afterwards, there’s often silence. The psyche returns inward, wrapping itself softly again sometimes through a look, sometimes through a single word, sometimes through quiet energy. That, too, is part of the process. This kind of contact is not a technique; it’s a shared breath between two beings. It doesn’t have to be easy or pleasant, only real. A space where one can see, feel, and simply be.
